Sanctuary is a server focused on long-term gameplay with an additionally extended initial phase of the game to better balance the pace of play and take full advantage of the content offered by Lineage II.

— For the duration of a duel in the Olympiad, all items with higher enchant are reduced to +6.

— Attribute Stone has a 40% chance of success.

— Attribute Crystal has a 30% chance of success.

Classes

Certificate of Competence

Certificates allow you to skip some class transfer quests. Certificates can be picked up from Newbie Guide and Adventurers’ Guide in each city.

— Each character except Kamaels receives 3 certificates. Kamaels receive 2 certificates.

— Certificates can be exchanged for quest items required for first and second class, or used to obtain the third class.

— After reaching third class, unused certificates can be exchanged for Adena and: 10 Elemental Crystals, 20 Elemental Stones or BEAS.

Subclasses

Limits

The possibilities for the development of subclasses have been extended so that they are on the same level as main class.

— Maximum level for subclass is 85.

— A character with hero status can use hero's skills on subclass.

— The Judicator subclass that did not have skills above level 80 received:

81 Level Fighter's Will, Archer's Will, Magician's Will
82 Level Protection of Alignment, Protection of Elemental, Protection of Rune

Quests

Completing subclass quests (Fate's Whisper, Seeds of Chaos, Mimir's Elixir) is not required, but completing them allows you to select previously unavailable subclasses:

— Overlord.

— Elves can choose Dark Elf classes.

— Dark Elves can choose Elf classes.

— Similar classes (eg. Hawkeye can select Phantom Ranger).

— Kamael can choose: Warlord, Gladiator, Hawkeye, Warlock, Bishop, Prophet, Silver Ranger, Elemental Summoner, Elven Elder, Phantom Ranger, Phantom Summoner, Shillien Elder, Destroyer, Tyrant, Overlord, Warcryer, but can still only use Light Armor!

Skill Cloning

Cloning allow you to use certified skills also on subclasses. The new feature is available from Avant-Garde in the Ivory Tower. The cost of cloning is 1 million adena.

— Cloning copies all certified skills to another class, you can clone from: Main class -> Sub-class, Sub-class -> Sub-class, Sub-class -> Main class.

— Cloning overwrites previously certified skills.

— Resetting certified skills clears skills on master class only.

— The cost of resetting certified skills is 1 million Adena.

— Removing a subclass does not remove previously learned certified skills.

Buffs

Duration

All buffs have standard duration time, except songs and dances which have base duration of 4 minutes.

Trade

Using buffstore command allows to sell buffs.

— Buff stores can only be set up in designated location in Giran and in clanhalls.

— Minimal price is 1k Adena, maximum price is 1kk Adena.

— Selling buffs uses up sellers mana.

Journey

Teleports

Wandering on the Sanctuary server requires more prudence and planning. Especially in the early game.

— The cost of teleporting has been quadrupled for characters below level 20.

— The cost of teleporting has been doubled for characters between level 20 and 39.

— The Newbie Guide offers free teleportation to the starting villages, and Gludin and Gludio for characters up to level 20.

— Every Gatekeeper, Newbie Guide and Adventurers' Guide offer free teleportation to Gludin and Giran for everyone.

Mounts

In each city Newbie Guide and Adventurers’ Guide you can rent a mount to help you reach your destination.

— All mounts move at a constant speed regardless of their buffs.

— Mounts vary in price and rental time, as well as speed and durability, which affects your character's P. Def and M. Def while riding:

Gates

The clan gate system, available to developed clans, enables fast and free teleportation to strategic locations.

— The gates are located on the Community Board in the Sanctuary tab.

— The available set of teleports depends on the clan level, clan headquarters and the player character level.

Castles

Sieges

By default, all castle sieges take place every Sunday at 6 p.m. and last for two hours.

— Each castle lord can announce the start of the siege at 5:00 PM, 6:00 PM, or 7:00 PM.

Territory War

The war starts every Saturday at 8 p.m. and lasts two hours.

— In one war, a character can collect a maximum of 270 badges from one territory.

Olympiad

Schedule

To minimize the risk of match-fixing, the fights for Hero status are concentrated on one day of the week. The remaining days are devoted to other, exotic duels, in which the only rewards are tokens and Vitality Maintaining Potion:

— Solo fights with the subclass are played on Monday:

— On Saturday at 00:15 the Hero statuses are distributed.

— There are no matches in the Olympics on Saturday and Sunday so players can focus on the Siege and Territory War.

— After each day, the points and the number of fights are reset.

— The number of tokens for Hero decreased four times due to the weekly period of granting the status.

— Reduced token prices for weapon and armor enchant scrolls.

— Random time to move participants to make it difficult to match-fixing.

— Changes to the Olympiad Veteran quest, which now requires subclass battles instead of class battles.

— New Daily Ranking for subclass and team fights available from Grand Olympiad Manager.

— Teleport to arena waiting time reduced from 120 seconds to 30 seconds.

Commands

The popular /olympiadstat and /instancezone commands have got new dedicated windows:

— The /olympiadstat command shows information about the selected character.

Community Board

The board has been completely rebuilt to delight and provide useful information and functions:

— The Sanctuary tab contains basic information about the server, characters, as well as Clan gates and character customization.

— The Events tab allows you to participate in hourly events.

— The Rankings tab contains information about the players' achievements.

— The Clans tab contains a list of clans on the server, as well as detailed information about clans and alliances. It also allows you to manage clan recruitment.

— The Raids tab contains information useful in organizing boss expeditions.

Market is the server's trading center. Depending on the level of your main character's class, you can put up to 45 items here.

— The Library tab is a knowledge base that will help you find items and monsters.

Macros

Sanctuary has a set of 77 nice multi-colored macro icons that allow you to arrange readable shortcut bars.

Customization

Hairs

Each character received two new hairstyles in all color variations:

— Potions for new hairstyles can be purchased from any priest of Dawn and Dusk, and from Strategist Lucien in Giran.

Skins

Sanctuary has an extensive system of skins for weapons, armor, shields and cloaks that allow you to freely manipulate the appearance of your character's equipment.

— The use of a skins requires a number of conditions:

Price One-time payment in Adena, Crystals, Ancient Adena, or Olympiad Tokens
Grade The item must have the appropriate Grade and minimum enchant level
Key items One-time payment in special items dropped by various monsters
Slayers only The character must have a sufficient number of slaughtered bosses for the skin to be visible

— The system allows you to hide the skins of other players so that you can identify their actual equipment.

— Weapon skins with effects are available in several versions:

— Alexandria at a Luxury Shop in Giran sells crowns and tiaras.

— Hoods, a scar and one mask can be purchased from the Territory Manager.

— Veteran's Circlet are available from Court Magician's elf in castles.

— Gatekeeper Hat, Artisan's Goggles, Warriors Helmet, Horn-Rimmed Glasses, Maid's Hairband, Valkyrie Hat, and Royal White Crown you can get from Chamberlain in castles. You can buy one for 12 hours.

Crafting

Recipes and Key Mats

Sanctuary restores the importance of craftsmanship known from older chronicles and allows Top S84 items to be crafted.

— Recipes can be obtained from bosses that drop entire items, namely Antharas, Valakas and Freya Hard.

— Key ingredients must be spoiled from monsters in LoA and SoA.

— Top S84 items don't have a Masterwork version.

Items

Common and Shadow

The value of Grade D and C items has been restored by removing their Common and Shadow counterparts.

— Shadow items are not present on the server at all.

— NPCs don't sell Common items, but monsters can still drop them (Grade B and A only).

Shots

Due to the low lifting capacity of the character, the packing of shots has regained its importance.

— Packaged Grade D, C, B, A and S shots have got new icons.

— All packaged shots are stacked.

Bracelets

New bracelets have been added in Dimensional Rift.

Two new skill levels Divine Inspiration have been added to increase the buff cap.

— The books required to learn new levels are dropping Antharas and Valakas.

Other

Protection System

Sanctuary has an additional protection system that protects against theft of the character and misappropriation of the account even if the account is shared with other people.

— The system does not block the game with a character, it only protects sensitive functions: changing the password, exchanging and destroying items, skins, modifying subclasses, skills, etc.

— Added 15 second character protection from monsters and other players after logging in and teleporting.

Renaming

Proper name change services are available for a fee from selected NPCs.

— Character name can be changed at the master of any guild for 5 million Adena.

— Clan name can be changed at the master of any guild for 10 million Adena.

— Name of pet can be changed at the Pet Manager for 5 million Adena.

Textures

The Horizon project adds many visual fixes and new textures to the game, including the horizon.
